It's here! Our next extravaganza! King of the deFy Hill!

What is it?

It's our way of welcoming the new play style in style. It's also a way to revitalize our community, make it stronger and to have fun with friends!


The Rules

Teams of 6 players each.
Standard Competetive TF2 Class Limits apply (1 medic, 1 demo, 2 of any other class).
All Unlocks will be allowed. (Yes, even sandman)
Standard KOTH rules, first team to cap the point wins the round.
Each match will consist of three rounds. (Switching sides every round to keep it balanced)
First team to win two rounds wins the match.
Everyone is encouraged to play and invite friends. Ringers welcomed!

Depending on the number of teams we have will determine our play style, whether it will be double elimination, or if we have less teams (ie 2), whoever wins the most matches.

Teams will be picked sandlot style. Team captains will be picked right before the event (either volunteer or forced volunteer) and each captain will pick their players one by one till all players have been drafted.


The Maps

Right now I'm open to suggestions but I'm thinking of along the lines of all the official KOTH maps with a choice custom or two:

Viaduct
Sawmill
Nucleus
Lighthouse

Tentatively, we will shoot for the 24th of October at around 3EST. Obviously, if there is a need we can change the date/time.

Can I bring a team of 6, or will teams be randomly generated from the player pool?

Have a bday party on the 26th and not sure if I'll be around for this.

I thought we'd be able to pick our own teams, but upon reading eFFl's thing it looks like that's not an option... what's the deal, eFFl?

I'll leave it up to the community, but here's my take: If people have 6 and they only want to play with them, then I don't see the harm in allowing that. For anyone who doesn't care/have enough friends (0ptik, I'm looking at you) they will be put in a pool and drafted to a team.

Hey guys... it looks like I'm going to be out of town that weekend after all so I'm going to have to withdraw my name from competition. Good luck and have fun!

Based on the sheer amount of responses, the "competition" is looking more like "let's start up the server".

That sucks... contrary to TWL, it seems like interest in TF2 has been waning a little bit over the last few months... class(less) updates and all, I'm not sure how much staying power this game has left... it may have shot it's load, so to say.

Anyway, I'm actually now not 100% sure I'll be gone, so if I show, I show... if not, GL/HF.

I'll come and play in it, and I can round of plenty of others to come play on the day of the event if we need to I am sure.

I regret to say that something has come up that I will not be able to be around earlier on Sunday. I will, however, be able to be on by like 7-8pm. Given the amount of response do you want to:

1. Play later in the day (like 8pm EST)
2. Play it another day (sometime in October?)
3. Play without me (I can give anyone with admin power the info to set up the server)

It really doesn't make much difference to me, I can do either 1 or 2 (3 is just harsh )
